Launch of a home improvement campaign

The RDC together with an implementing partner (water for people) and a team of health inspectors launched a home improvement campaign under the district hygiene and sanitation transitional grant (DHSCG) in kabaku village Bbaale subcounty.

The principle health inspector said the campaign was for an open defecation free community.

Community was cautioned about sinking toilets, boiling drinking water, scrubbing jerrycans and etc.

The ADHO EH promised to punish family heads with homes without toilets.

Entry meeting of a team from St Francis health care service with the technical staff of Kayunga

A team from St. Francis health care service held an entry meeting with the technical staff of Kayunga district at the district headquarters.

St. Francis is a registered community NGO which is implementing the adolescent girls and young women project.

The main goal of this project is to create economic opportunities among adolescent girls and young women and their household (AGYWs)

This is a pilot project which will last for 12 months but renewable basing on its performance and impact on the AGYWs.

PROGRESS OF WORKS AT NSOTOKA HCIII

The district leadership held a site meeting for the construction of HCIII in nsotoka parish Kayunga subcounty.

The scope of work comprised of constructing a general ward, out patients department, 4 stance latrine, placenta pit, medical waste pit and external works.

The project was constructed by the UPDF engineers brigade at a cost of 837,310,381 million shillings which was cleared.

The overall progress of the work stood at 99% and the project was ready for commissioning.
