On 18h May 2021 it was a bright Tuesday for the newly elected District council members of Kayunga District and 19th May 2021 for the Lower Local Government council members whereby the district Council members were all sworn in at the district headquarters grounds which was officiated by the Ag.Chief Magistrate of Kayunga magisterial court Worship- Tusiime Sarah. and for the Lower Local Governments at their sub county headquarters in a function presided over by the Chief Administrative Officer.
Kayunga District finally handed over the contract for the construction of Nazigo Seed Secondary School in Musitwa village, Nazigo Sub county in Kayunga District. This came almost after 1 financial year whereby the Ministry of Education and Sports failed to identify a contractor to construct the school last Financial Year 2018/19 due to insufficient funds and the project was carried forward in this Financial Year 2019/ 2020’s budget.

The intervention of the President towards skilling the youth is hoped to bring a lot of positive change into the lives of the youth and women from all the eleven districts that make up Mengo zone -Kayunga, Wakiso, Mukono, Mpigi, Nakasongola, Luwero, Buikwe, Buvuma, Gomba, Butambala & Nakaseke.

District leadership handing over tractors to farmers' groups
The district leadership has today handed over 3 tractors to the following 3 famers’ groups from Bbaale and Ntenjeru North constituencies.
1.Kayunga Farmers’ SACCO composed of 2000 members from Ntenjeru North Constituency received tractor No. UBF 434P
2. Kwagala Galiraya Agricultural Marketing Cooperative composed of 700 members from Bbaale constituency received a tractor Reg No. UBE 750Q
Kayunga District Starts Measles-Rubella Polio Vaccination awareness meetings
Kayunga district has started preparation meetings for the coming national vaccination against Measles-Rubella Polio immunization due to take place from 16th to 20th this month.
The RDC Margret Mwanamoiza requested the technical team to ensure that the District attains 100% immunization coverage in this exercise and vowed to deal with anybody who may sabotage this government program.
In a bid to modernise farming, the government through the Operation for Wealth Creation provided cross breed incalf heifers to some selected farmers in the district..
PRESIDENT YOWERI MUSEVENI COMMISSIONED ISIMBA 183MW HYDRO POWER DAM PROJECT
President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta on Thursday 21st March 2019 commissioned Isimba Hydro Power Project( IHPP) 183 Mega Watts , Its located in Nampanyi village, Busaana Sub county-Kayunga District along the Victoria Nile.
The President said that Isimba will boost Uganda's electricity generation capacity, which is a booster to the industartalisation sector in the country.
Uganda gained her independence on October 9th 1962. Since 1894 she was a British protectorate that was put together from some very organized kingdoms and chieftaincies that inhabited the lake regions of central Africa.
By 1959, Uganda had 16 districts and at the time of independence in 1962 one more district was created. In 1945 Uganda divided into four provinces of Buganda, Eastern, Northern and Western. The provinces were sub-divided into districts In 1962: Uganda became independent on October 9.
