KAYUNGA INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS 2023

Kayunga District held an INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY celebration at Ntenjeru HCIII Kitimbwa subcounty. The National chairperson Women Council Hajjat Farida kibowa appreciated the massive turn up of people most especially pregnant mothers and thanked the mothers of the nation for educating children and being food stores in a home since men have abandoned their responsibility. She  encouraged mothers to involve in all government projects like PDM since ,"empowering a mother is empowering the nation."

CLOSURE OF USHA IN KAYUNGA

The District leadership held a close out meeting with Officials from Uganda Sanitation For Health Activities (USHA) funded by USAID at Katikomu hotel in Kayunga District. USHA signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the District with an aim of increasing access to sustainable sanitation services and promote key hygiene behaviours at households, Schools and Health facilities. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the USHA achievements and sustainability of the projects after their departure.

DEVELOPMENT OF KAYUNGA MULT HAZARD CONTINGENCE PLAN WITH THE RED CROSS AND OTHER DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS FOR ONE WEEK

The District Technical Team held an exercise with Officials from the Uganda Red Cross Society under the ECHO pilot programmatic partnership at the District Council Hall. The main subject of the Exercise was to draft a "District Multi Hazard Contingency Plan", which will improve on the Disaster response Issues in the District. The District vision was having a Disaster prepared District with Capacity to cope and sustain livelihoods. The main goal was strengthening State and non-state institutions engagements in Disaster Management in Kayunga District.
