LAUNCHING OF THE NILE ENGLISH BOOK AT NAKYESA BRIGHT PRIMARY SCHOOL IN KAYUNGA DISTRICT

Official Launch of the Nile English Course Book by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education and Sports in Kayunga District.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education and Sports Mrs Lamaro Betty together with Director National Curriculum Development Centre and CEO Vision Group launched the revised Edition of the Nile English Course Book for Primary six at Nakyesa Bright Primary school in Kayunga District.

The District team was represented by the RDC, DEO.

The DEO Mr Mubale Dan thanked government for funding the project. We have registered a tremendous improvement in the education sector and appealed to government to also consider the transitional classes like Primary four.

LAUNCHING SANITATION WEEK IN GALIRAYA SUB COUNTY 24TH/04/2023

A team from the District  led by the Rdc launched a sanitation week in Gwero  'B' village, Namayuge  parish,Galilaya subcounty Kayunga District whose theme was "Sanitation and Hygiene for all" - A key to disease prevention.

Principle Health Inspector (DHI) Mr Osilon James Patrick presented  the key activities to be undertaken durying the sanitation  week as  baseline data collection, hygiene improvement,cleaning and repairingwater sources and general cleanliness of All public places.This will be led by the VHTs.

LAUNCHING NAROCAS CASSAVA STEMS BY KAYUNGA DISTRICT

The Production department at the DLG had planned the procurement of cassava planting material of NAROCASS 1 in FY 2022 - 2023 which is a new improved disease tolerant variety from the Agriculture Extension Grant.

We have received 397 bags of cassava stems which costed 23,800,000/= for distribution to Galilaya and Bbaale sub counties to ensure food security and multiplication gardens from which the DLG will buy cassava stems next FY. The cassava matures after 9 to 12 months and is very palatable resulting in good cassava stew and flour.
