THE YOUTH GROUPS IN KAYUNGA RECEIVED A TOTAL SUM OF 226,140,000 MILLION FOR 29 GROUPS THROUGH THE YOUTH LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMME.

The youth groups in Kayunga received a total sum of 226,140,000 million for 29 groups through the youth livelihood programme.

The Principal Assistant Secretary on behalf of CAO congratulated the groups upon their success. He said government focus is to provide a revolving seed capital to youths which is now based on recovery performance.

He advised the groups to deal in enterprises where they have expertise to minimise losses.

He urged CDOs to support this program by organising regular visits to clients and ensure all members in the group benefit.

The finance officer said that the government target to youths is being self-reliant and this can be achieved through proper planning, budgeting and saving.

He called for faithfulness so as to achieve our goals. He told youths that it is a revolving fund and has to be paid back.

The youth Chairperson requested fellow youths to also involve themselves in PDM.

He said that failure of YLP in the previous years was a result of bribery from technical officers who were requesting for kickbacks from the groups.

He promised to fight and supervise the YLP program.
