UGIFT MICRO SCALE IRRIGATION MONITORING

The Sectoral Committee for production, Technical Services, Nature Resources and Trade department held a monitoring visit to the UGIFT Microscale Irrigation Program at Mr Luzira Samuel a model farmer.

He is a progressive farmer using the UGIFT microscale irrigation program in Kyerima  C Village. This farmer installed a Sub massive pump in a shadoof with a solar panel and a switch which  pumps water from the  shadoof to the tap were Community collects it.

The model Farmer also installed a Hydrant which connects water to the garden.

The program benefits farmers with a water source and payment of 2.7 million can access this UGIFT program. The farmers with limited funds are at liberty to request for this program as long as they have a water source.
