The District Security Committee headed by the Resident District Commissioner Hajj Dumba Moses held a sensitization and awareness campaign with a Team from Uganda Electricity Generation Company Ltd at the District Health Board room.

The purpose of the meeting was to sensitize the stakeholders about their roles in minimising damages to property and loss of lives according to Mr Wasike Frederick Manager Dam safety.

Brig. Gen. James advised UEGCL to think of making changes in the levels of communication with regard to the situations at hand.

The RDC noted with concern on the issue of ignorance from the residents. Most communities are not aware about the dangers of floods and they need to collectively discourage people from settling along the river banks and Dams.

The RDC further emphasised about noise pollution to the residents surrounding the Dam and Guided that  people who are willing to shift to be compensated willingly.
