RDC MR. SSEMPALA KIGOZI HANDS OVER OFFICE TO INCOMING RDC ALHAJI NSEREKO MUTUMBA

Kayunga District out going Resident district commissioner, Mr.Ssempala Kigozi has  today Friday 1st April 2022 officially handed over office to the incoming  Resident district commissioner, Alhaji Nsereko Muhammed.

The handover has taken place in the RDC office at the District headquarters. Ssempala was has been transferred to Mpigi District, in the recent reshuffle for the RDCs and their deputies.

While handover office the outgoing RDC, appreciated the people of Kayunga for the good working relationship and guidance they have offered to his office during his stay in the District that he said had enabled him to work and to serve them for the period he had stayed with them. He also asked his successor, to cooperate and work with the people of Kayunga he described to be cooperative.

He informed him that the NRM government had made a lot of infrastructure developments in the District like constructed Seed schools, upgraded Kayunga hospital to a regional referral hospital, piped water provision, constructed bridges and tarmacking of may roads and that its only Kayunga-Bbaale-Galiraya road that had not been tarmacked but was yet to be tarmacked. However, the NRM based on the last Presidential elections had reduced and urged him to ensure that its revived.

He however told him that land grabbing and land wrangles existed in the District, whereby some people were replacing other people’s land titles and others extending beyond their land boundaries.

He also mentioned about the poverty that exists amongst the people of Kayunga although the government had tried to solve it through its various interventions but it was still failing whereby some programs like Emyooga had been mishandled by the beneficiaries.

On his part, the incoming RDC Alhaji Nsereko Mutumba said that he had not come to fight wars but to work and urged all those around to work with him regardless of being of any religious or cultural denomination.

He promised to ensure that the NRM support and the lost glory of Kayunga as a rich District are revived during his stay in the District.

On the same day, the outgoing Deputy RDC Mr.Mukooza Ronald has also handed over office to the Incoming Deputy RDC Mr. Mawerere Peter.

The function has been attended by the District NRM Chairperson. Mr Kalangwa Moses, L.C.5 Chairperson Mr.Muwonge Andrew, office of the CAO, members of the District Security committee among others.
