COUNCIL SITTING ON 27 OCTOBER 2023

Kayunga District held a council meeting chaired by the speaker Hon. Bulinson Saleh. In attendance was CAO and deputy, DISO, RDC and his deputy, technical staff among others.

The chairperson was impressed by the attendance, smartness and time of arrival of the councilors.

 Council approved the board of governors for Kangulumila public SS and Bbaale SS.

 Hon. Namukose Fatuma was elected as the Deputy Speaker replacing Babirye Nakimera who moved to other assignments.

KAYUNGA DISTRICT ORGANIZED A CONSULTATIVE MEETING WITH DIVINE RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANY LIMITED TO DISCUSS THE NEW PROGRESS OF ACCELERATING BIOGAS.

The District Production Officer said Biogas is not new in Kayunga and people will embrace it due to the ban on charcoal and firewood.

He applauded it as a clean method with minimal side effects.

He urged Agricultural Officers to take this training serious and train farmer in sub counties since they will only pay 40% less the initial pay.

He requested Donors to fix a favourable price for rural farmers since the price was still high.

Mrs Grace Nakimera the program manager advised them to embrace Biogas since government has put a ban on charcoal and firewood.

AN ORIENTATION MEETING WITH THE DISTRICT LEADERSHIP ON THE DETERMINED RESILIENT EMPOWERED AIDS FREE MENTORED AND SAFE (DREAMS) PROGRAM AT THE DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS

Officials from MUWRP held an orientation meeting with the District leadership on  the Determined Resilient Empowered Aids free Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) program at the District Headquarters.

The purpose of the meeting was to make an entry to sensitise technical staff to specifically understand and build interventions to target the young girls and reduce HIV infection and prevention in Kayunga.
