LAUNCHING OF DREAMS PROGRAM IN KAYUNGA

The Team from MACDOUGH  foods Uganda limited held a meeting with stakeholders on Horticulture market Acceleration program (HORTIMAP) at the District Headquarters.

The project is aimed at benefiting young farmers of which 70% females and 30% males  and create  descent  employment to youths preparing them for calamities and Risk management.

 It was noted that youths are challenged by calamities, lack of land and being cheated by middle men.

 The MACDOUGH team promised to further train youths and take them to exchange visits to get encouragement to stick on the game.

The District Agriculture Officer thanked the team for supporting youths by adding value to their products which has risen the standard of living of the youth farmers in Kayunga District.

The CAO who was represented by the principal Assistant Secretary applauded MACDOUGH for sticking to the guidelines as signed in the MOU and requested them to organize regular feedbacks and share for proper co-ordination.

He urged technical Staff to take advantage of such opportunities and benefit the community. The vice chairperson LCV thanked MACDOUGH for the quality products produced like tomato paste and he said the  biggest population of Kayunga is youths.

She requested the team to form a SACCO in all sub counties to act as model garden and urged them to  involve political leaders most especially during youth mobilisation.
