KAYUNGA DISTRICT CHAIRPERSON PASSES ON
Kayunga District newly sworn in District Chairperson Mr Ffeffeka Sserubogo Muhammed passed on 16th June 2021in less than a month after being sworn in on 18th May 2021 as the newly elected Chairperson of Kayunga District.
Ffeffeka passed on after being alleged to having committed suicide from his country home at Kyebanja village , Kayunga Sub county in Kayunga District.
According to CID spokesperson ASP Charles Twine, the Post-mortem was done by three Senior Surgeons and one Independent doctor provided by the family of the Late Ffefeka Sserubogo in the presence of the brother of the deceased and the LC V Vice-chairman and it the report concluded that the late “Sserubogo committed suicide.”
He was laid to rest at his ancestroal parents home at Kyebanja village in Kayunga District.
Who is to lead Kayunga after the death of the Chairperson
According to the LG Act, Cap 243, after the death of the District Chaoirperson, the Vice chairperson automatically assumes the seat for the office of the District Chairperson for a period of 6 months , whereby the Chief Administrative Officer notifies the Electoral Commission which is mandated to organise a by election.
