Committee for Production on a Monitoring Visit in the field of kayonza Subcounty.

The Production committee carried out an oversight monitoring visit at lugasa village in kayonza Subcounty and kilubo village in Galiraaya Subcounty.

The purpose of the visit was to assess and monitor community progress and access to government programs. 

A total of 33 farmers were supported under the microscale irrigation program last financial year where 21 farmers are in kayonza S/C, 8 in Galiraaya S/C, 1 farmer in Busaana S/C , 2 in Nazigo and Ahmed Seguya technical institute in kangulumila SC were able to cofund their 25% and received their irrigation system.

The drag hose irrigation system was supplied.

A total of 72 acres of coffee are being irrigated by 29 farmers in kayonza and Galiraaya Subcounty.

The Committee members were impressed with the great work being done despite the land being a cattle corridor and credited the Agricultural Officers.

They requested them to turn them into demonstration farms and study centers such that other farmers can pick a leaf.
