RADIO TALK SHOW ON COMMUNITY SERVICE ORDER

The community Service Officer (CSO) Kayunga Court together with Officials from the District held a talk show at Sauti fm.

The CSO highlighted the benefits of community service order.

"community service means non-custodial punishment."

The high court or it's subordinates orders the offender to perform unpaid work of public interest for a specific period of time while residing at his home.  

This is eligible to persons that are not habitual offenders, have been found guilty and have homes.

She warned Offenders who hire people to work for them.

The Asst Water Engineer Mr Luboya Paul enlightened the listeners about the projects to be done in this financial year.

These include drilling 5 boreholes, repairing 6 boreholes and construction of a pit latrine at Kisugu landing site

He thanked Red rhino development Organisation and Nexus Green the development partners that have eased their work.

The Senior Probation and social welfare officer Mr Kafeero Collins sensitized the older persons about the on-going SAGE payment schedule per subcounty.

 2607 older persons will receive 75000 each and 508 new SAGE beneficiaries enrolled.

The District Production Officer thanked the listeners for supporting the PDM program most specially women.

He urged youths and people with disability to get involved in this program since they constitute list numbers.

He encouraged communities to use this program to enrich themselves Instead of criticizing it.
