Community Sensitisation Meeting at kyedikyo village.
The District Chairperson, RDC and his Deputy, DISO, principal Assistant CAO, District Councilor and technical staff held a site visit to Kitwe parish and kyedikyo village at kawongo landing site in Galiraaya Subcounty.
The visit was intended to:
1. Conduct a fact finding on the 200 acres of land that OPM procured in kyedikyo to resettle people displaced by floods.
2. Make preparation for development of Physical Development Plan so to enable the settlement process of people displaced by raising waters at kyedikyo village.
3. To ascertain the Situation at Ntimba P/S which was affected by raising waters.
4. To asertain the situation of residents at Kitwe B whose homes had been flooded by raising waters and had cut them off from accessing the community including learners.
Findings:
1. Total number of learners found at Ntimba PS were less than 100.
2. The raising waters had sorounded the school cutting off learners from accessing the facility.
3. The Chairperson lc1 kyedikyo village sold plots of land yet the land was owned by Government and donated to residents of kyedikyo village.
4. The toilet coverage at kyedikyo was 5% and over 300people only had 7 latrines.
5. Some of the displaced persons from kyedikyo had not been considered.

Sorounded with raising waters up to their houses leaving no access roads.
Way forward :
The District leadership advised residents of kyedikyo to sink toilets for themselves not to wait for government.
They promised to hold a meeting with parents and teachers of Ntimba PS in the 3rd week of August to find solutions to the problems.
3. The OPM was mobilising funds to support the Physical Development Plan exercise.
The RDC cautioned whoever bought land at kyedikyo as illegal and emphasized that land belongs to Government. They should prepare to vacate including the non residents of kyedikyo village.
