EMYOOGA TASK FORCE MEETING HELD ON 14/11/2023
Kayunga District held a joint meeting with Emyooga District Task Force Committee together with a team from microfinance support center.
The purpose of the meeting was to check on interventions the country is implementing most especially Emyooga and to assess the progress and challenges of the program.
The Chairperson briefed the team about the status of Emyooga as follows 54 Saccos, 993 Emyooga associations and received 1,680,000, 000.Billion.
Recoveries stand at 580,000,000 and the total 1,100,000,000.is still in arrears.
He said it's performance is 25% and below average.
The District focal person Emyooga outlined the challenges faced including convergence money amongst themselves, money not meant for projects but rather loans, diverted money. And some shared money amongst committees, political interference that money was a token from president, beneficiaries changed locations etc.
The Chairperson Board for Micro finance Mr kiiza Emmanuel thanked the team for suporting the program whose cardinal role is to make the poor active, rich and lives better.
He said as per the National perspective, kayunga is below average and attached technical people who have become hinderances to this program.
He requested RDC to call for similar meeting and map out performers for empowerment to act as examples.
We need to conduct study tours for group leaders to compare under the facilitation of micro finance support center
