LAYING THE PROPOSED BUDGET ESTIMATE BEFORE COUNCIL.

Kayunga District laid the proposed budge estimate worth UGX 54,254,647,000. for FY 2024/2025 before council. The budget has increased by approximately 13% as compared to FY 2023/2024. The budget theme is "Full monetization of Uganda's Economy through Commercial Agriculture, Industrialization, Expanding and Broadening Services, Digital Transformat and Market Access", The budget allocation breakdown is as follows with Education and Sports sector taking the biggest share. Salaries. 31,164,416,000 Production and marketing is UGX,2,508,921,000. Education and sports is UGX 28,901,262,000. Health sector,UGX, 9,932,040,000. Water and sanitation 1,098,692,000. Natural Resources sector UGX,490,483,000. Community and social development UGX,330 397,000. Planning sector 736,649,000.Governance and accountability- UGX 8,332,924,000. Trade industry and local development, UGX 92,112,000. The budget priotised the following areas: 1. Promoting tourism development. 2, Maintaining good road networks 3. Investing in the people of Uganda (human capital development). 4. Promoting production through micro irrigation and supporting industries using local materials, 5. Deepening financial inclusion through PDM and Emyooga Funding. Sources of funding include 1. Local revenue 2- Transfer from consolidated fund 3. Transfer from other government units 4. External assistance, The District speaker instructed councilors to Interest them selves in allocation of schools to be renovated using the 400m in the budget for renovation. Contract agreement with the contractor at Ndeeba SSS has been councelled, LCV Chairperson resolved the issue of increasing the allowances of councilors.
