Kayunga District Sensitisation meeting with stakeholders on the upcoming national population and Housing census.
The District Technical census Committee held an orientation meeting with stakeholders on the upcoming National Population and Housing Census at the District headquarters. Population census is the process of counting all people and their characteristics like age, sex, religion, occupation etc.
This s is the first digital census in Uganda.
The main aim of the meeting was to request Stakeholders to mobilise the masses for the noble cause. The enumeration exercise will begin on the 9th with a census night till when all households will be enumerated.
The DCCR gave highlights on why census is conducted:
1. Data is used for research, Planning and marketing.
2. It highlights service delivery gaps.
3. It calls for inclusive development Towards unity and prosperity.
10th May has been declared a Public holiday and on the eve, every person will be counted from where the census night found you. She requested them to mobilise for honest information to the Enumerators for accurate results.
She also requested them to supervise the Parish supervisors and Enumerators during the exercise.
The Chairperson LCV requested the team to make use of lc1 and 11s in mobilization and radio announcers for the program to be successful.
