INTERNATIONAL NEEDS UGANDA SUPPORTING FARMERS IN KAYUNGA DISTRICT

International Needs Uganda is supporting farmers in Kayunga District with assorted farm inputs and machinery at Parish level.

A total of 2500 farmers in the 10 parishes of Katikanyonyi, kirindi, Lusenke, Nampanyi, Kasana, Namukuma, Namirembe, Nabuganyi, Kiwangula and Namusaala make up the Beneficiaries list.

Since last financial year, the following items were distributed 9 Maize Threashers, 3 solar powered irrigation equipment, 44000 fish fingerings and feeds to Nampanyi fish farmers group, a livestock feed Machine among others.

They further trained a total of 70 leaders from the 10 associations in leadership and management skills.

International Needs Uganda further supported 91 farmers with registration and accounts opening.

Katikanyonyi farmers were supported with seed capital worthy 5Million to improve their lending and savings activities.

As a climax of their activities in the District, international Needs Uganda organised a farmer’s Agricultural exhibition at Busaana football ground.
