GROUND BREAKING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 657 MILLION MARTENITY AT BUSAALE H.C.II

The District Chairperson Mr Sserwanga Tom William yesterday officiated at the groung breaking for the construction of a martenity ward at Busaalae H.C.II to be upgraded to H.C.III in Kayunga Sub county.

He urged the community sorrounding the facility to closely monitor the project and to report all those who will engage in stealing the project construction materials.

According to the District Engineer, works to be done include  construction of a general martenity ward, martenity wing, 2 delivery suits, duty room, store, records room, postnatal ward with 6 beds, pediatricward with 6 beds, & a mens's ward with 2 beds.

The contract was awarded to Infracon Uganda Ltd at a cost of 657 million shillings. Its Executive Director Mr Sewanyana Patrick promised that they will deliver quality work.

This is part of the government's plan to upgrade all H.C.IIs to III in a bid to reduce on martenal mortality rate by bringinging services closer to the people. 

The facility will also medical equipments worth200 million shillings.

The upgrade of the facility will save many mothers from the burden  of trecking long distances  in search of martenity services and it will also decongest Kayunga District hospital.

Kayunga subcounty is the only sub county in the District without a Health centre III
