Council session

 District held a council meeting chaired by the District speaker Hon Bulinson Saleh. Various issues were discussed : The chairperson LCV made a reshuffle amongest DEC members. Hon kayemba Ivan was appointed as the secretary for production. The Vice Chairperson took over the position of Secretary for Health and Gender which fell vacant after the death of Hon Nakate lydia. Hon Oyeyo Moses maintained his position of Secretary Finance and Administration, Hon Kamanda fahad maintained his position of Secretary for Education. Council resolved to reconstitute committees since the ones in place had expired as per the law. Hon Ntambi Saidi retained his position as Chairperson for Production, technical services, works and natural resources. Hon Nanda Micheal Washaki retained his position as Chairperson Education, Health and Community Based services, Hon kamulegeya Yasin waluya was elected as Chairperson Finance Planning and Administration, Council recommended continuous trainings and support of the IRAS system since it's here to stay and has greatly increased on the revenue collection. Council agreed to pass a resolution guided by the District that will enable medical practitioners pay operational permits. The Chairperson LCV will harmonize with councilors and partition Kayonza subcounty since it covers a very big area. The Secretary for Education was instructed to liase with the concerned officers and elect School Management committees which expired. RDC called for a Go back to school campaign which will make sure all learners are in school. He said it's a crime if your National Identity card expires before renewal, He urged Town Councils and sub counties to display all the funds received from the District per quarter on the notice board and their allocations for accountability and better service delivery- He called for collective efforts in conservation of the environment most especially wetlands and forests. He requested councilors to report any irregularities on PDM to concerned offices.
