Communication Needs Assessment meeting at the District headquarters.

An official from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance (MoICT &NG) held a communication Needs Assessment meeting with 

technical staff at the District headquarters.

 

The MoICT &NG is developing a monitoring, evaluation and reporting(MER) strategy for Uganda broadcasting cooperation (UBC) to enhance government communication.

 

UBC will facilitate content development, broadcasting, promotion and preservation for ministries, agencies and local governments.

 

Why the MER strategy?

 

1. Implement the NRM manifesto through development communication.

2. Strengthen government communication on service delivery initiatives.

3. To improve public sector response to needs of the citizens and private sector.

4. Increase public participation in development programs

5. Increase knowledge on development programs and services.

6. Increase incomes in hands of beneficiaries.

7. Improving quality of life.eg life expectancy.

8. Improved accessibility to markets.

9. Position UBC as the national broadcaster to the level of BBC and Aljazeera.

10. Identify communication gaps in local governments.

 

The MER strategy will

 target ministries,local governments and UBC content developers and producers.
